Web host providers (or web hosts) are companies that provide space on servers that they own for use by their clients, as well as providing Internet connectivity, typically in a data center.

The web host provider gives its customer an account, which can be used to upload HTML documents, PHP scripts, graphics, and other web-based elements that form websites. Web host providers (or web hosts) can also provide data center space and connectivity to the Internet for servers they do not own to be located in their data center, called colocation.
